In harder economic times pet neglect and abandonment become more and more common. Too often when people lose their homes or their livelihoods they abandon their pets or turn them into animal shelters, little realizing that the shelters are high kill, and that even let free on their own dogs have little chance of survival. We have domesticated dogs to rely on us for hundreds of years and that’s all they know, and consequently what they and their ancestors have adapted to.

Before you consider giving up your Springer Spaniel or if you have a friend or neighbor in that situation, please contact us and we will do what we can to take in your Springer Spaniel or find him a new home or short term home, till you can take him again or find a responsible friend or family member to take him.

The more advance notice the better, so we have time to work out a solution. In the case of Springer Spaniels placed by us, we will always take them back. In the case of Springer Spaniels in the local shelter, we don’t always have room to help, but please let us know and we’ll do our best.
